It's been a crazy week and a half! We are finally out of Kansas! YIPPEE!!
It started a week ago Wednesday, and we have finally arrived in Greeley, Colorado as of this past Tuesday.
Jim completed the Kansas job, and we had to take the car and coach to Dodge City to get it ready for towing. They got us right in and started on everything. The brackets and the light wiring on the car were done in just a few hours. Then came crying time. The install of the Toadstop II didn't go so well. They thought they had it all done and lo and behold the braking box had filled up with brake fluid because it was hooked up wrong. It's supposed to be air vacuum operated. The car was full of brake fluid all over the place on the floor behind the driver. The RV place had to hire someone to come in and get it all cleaned up. They did a great job on it.
Now we had to wait overnight for Blue Ox to send a new Toadstop. They didn't want the one that had been contaminated with Brake Fluid to be used. So we waited another day. (Mind you we are now on our 3rd day there) The box arrived as it was supposed to and a new tech went to work on it. He had it all figured out and he really knew what he was doing. We were very impressed with him. Ours was the first Toadstop they'd installed and there were a few glitches, but a call to the Techies at Blue Ox quickly cured all the problems.
Every night while we were there, as soon as they pulled down the Bay doors and headed home, the jackrabbits came out. Dozens of them! We were at the top of a big hill, next to a huge Dodge City Feedyard. There was a large pasture right there beside the RV place and they filled up the watering troughs with a hose from the RV center. The hose had a wee small leak in it and made a little puddle. The jackrabbits would come to drink. I didn't get any pictures. As soon as you open the door, they'd run l
