We didn't make it to Chattanooga. Once again, the company changed Jim's orders just as we headed out. He got sent to Sweetwater, Tennessee instead. We're Staying at the Sweetwater Valley KOA. I didn't post sooner because I've been sicker than a dog with a really bad cold and not wanting to do anything but stay in the bed and sleep this past week. I'm starting to feel better now.
We are also now official residents of the state of Tennessee. We should be able to complete the driver's license portion of the address change one day this week.
It is freezing cold here. The temp when we woke up this morning was 13! The water pipes are frozen even though Jim wrapped them with insulation. Thankfully, he filled the fresh water tanks yesterday just in case, so we do have water. Our high for today is only expected to be around 33 or so. And yesterday, it SNOWED! Jim called it flurries. I called it snow that didn't stick. It came down pretty heavy for about 10 minutes turning to just wetness as it hit the ground. Anything that was wet during the night though, was black ice this morning on the roads. Luckily, most of the wetness had dried before the sun set yesterday. The weatherman says we should have temps in the 40's tomorrow. That's going to feel like a heat wave compared to right now. We've used nearly half of our 65 gallon tank of propane here in only 10 days. OY! A tank of propane normally lasts us 6-9 months!
We get e-mails from our friends in Florida on a daily basis telling us how nice and warm they are down there! They just have to rub it in. ::grin::
There was a really thick coating of ice on the inside of the windshield this morning. I put towels in the gap area between the dash and the windshield to absorb the moisture as it all melted in the warmth of the sun. That worked really well. I only wish the sun would shine farther into the coach to warm everything even more. I'm wondering if the campground water pipes will even thaw out today at all. It' a little after noon, and so far there's still no water. Ah, the joy of camping in winter weather.
Not much news, so I won't get long-winded. Besides, I still don't feel fabulous. I think it's time for me to take some meds and go lie down for a little while. I'll write more when we kniow where Jim is going next...
