We arrived in Gordonville, TX (on the Texas-Oklahoma border)the 31st of August. It was a really quick trip. We left SC on Sunday the 30th and drove as far as Pearl (Jackson MS) the first day. At the Flying J there, we fueled, ate and spent the night and then drove the rest of the way in to Gordonville on Monday.
Lake Texoma TT park is really pretty and well maintained. The only thing we don't like here is the phone service. Verizon needs to send their "can you hear me now" guy out here. I have to make 2 or 3 attempts to send a text message to get it to finally go, I drop calls like crazy and Internet service is non-existent. People that come here often have switched to AT&T service. However, if we drive to the marina around the corner on the lake, full Verizon service is available. As the crow flies, that's less than a mile. By the way of roads, it's more.
We'll be leaving here Tuesday, the 15th and going about 40 miles to Thackerville, OK. We've already taken a drive over there to see about phone service and we should have a full signal while we're there.
Nothing out of the ordinary has happened lately.... Jim still hasn't found work, though not for a lack of calling all the contacts he has available. We are being as frugal as possible and hoping we can make it until he does get work. It's tight, tight, tight, but we're hanging in there. It's also boring, boring, boring to sit day after day unable to do anything because you don't want to expend the gas to go somewhere, or even the extra dollar it might cost to do anything. I'm also going to be shutting off the phone to the car and knocking back our phone service as much as possible without shutting it completely off. After all, that's a necessity to get a job.
The web sites aren't making a lot of money - just barely enough to keep my service and cover costs for hosting, so will y'all please get out there and shop with us? It would be helpful. And don't go thinking that your one little online purchase wouldn't matter. All those one little online purchases add up and so do the revenues from the ads on the sites. So get over there to any of our sites and shop til your fingers hurt. Links to our sites are on the upper left of this page.
