We had a new great-grandson born yesterday! 6lbs. 11oz and no one has told me how long he is. :( His name is Brandon Noah Ryan ______ (leaving off last name for privacy) This is our 4th. He looks pretty darned angry! But I guess he had a right to be, don't you? I surely wish I could have been there. And, we have another due probably next week sometime. Both are in NE Ohio. Since we are way out in Oregon and Jim is working, makes it kind of difficult to be there. Now, I can't wait for this job to end so we can go and see the babies in person!
It's been pretty cold here at night. I woke up to 22º this morning and as I write it is only 42º. We had snow off and on for 3 days over the weekend and into Tuesday. Not much stuck to the ground and by yesterday afternoon it was allllllllll gone. We put styrofoam on a frame all around the bottom of the motorhome, inside the engine compartment door, and around the outer edges of the slides. (I put pictures on Jim's facebook page) We also hooked up the electric water hose and closed in the sewer hose to keep it from freezing.
Jim is working his buns off and loving every minute of it except when it's so muddy that it takes hours with a pressure washer to get all the mud out of the wheel wells and out from under the bumpers. It's so dusty when it's dry that all the dust clogged up the tailgate latch and he had to really work at cleaning all that mess out to stop the latch from sticking shut.
We are really loving it here. It's a small town. The people are very friendly and take you in like you've lived here all your life. It's only about 20-25 miles to Klamath Falls and the much loved Super Walmart. There is also a Safeway, Albertsons, and a wonderful local discount grocery called Thunderbird. There's a lot of other stores too, like Ross, Petco, Office Depot and a few other large chains. But if you REALLY want shopping, then you have to drive the nearly 100 miles to Medford. I'm hoping that if Jim gets a weather day on a Saturday, maybe we can make the 45 minute drive to Chiloquin and stay the night there visiting the casinos. :)
I have been tobacco free for 17 days!!!! I bought what they call an
eSmoke ecig
. Nothing burns, there's no tobacco, you get NONE of the carcinogens, none of the stink, no ashes - none of all that. You get only the nicotine. Since I can't chew the gum, this seems like the way to go for me. I just wish I could convince Jim. I am already breathing better. I was having some pretty good chest pain, and even that is gone. The congestion in the back of my throat has even disappeared already. Using my esmoke seems to be actually making me feel better. I would compare it to those brathing things they make you do after surgery at the hospital, but if I did that I know someone would raise Holy H with me. I can't imagine how I'm going to feel after a few months. I can "vape" in restaurants, and in the motorhome. There is no odor, no anything related to tobacco. You breathe vapor and you exhale nothing more than steam. I've discovered that they make some wonderful flavors to put in these and wonder if I might be able to use those flavors to lay off the sweets.
:::giggle::: Especially after I work my way down to 0 nicotine. If you use the link above to get one, you should be able to use code Fresh10 to save 10% when you checkout.
Ok enough from me for now. The sun is out and the temp is still the same, but I'm going to go outside and get some fresh air anyway.
